Ruslan Shaymardanov is the founder and operator of Defaults, published through TOO «Багдарлы Кадам». He writes and edits everything published on this site.

Articles carry an organizational byline, The Defaults Research Team, with his name on them as editor. That phrase is not a stand-in for people who do not exist: the research team is the research function of Defaults, which today is one person working with AI research tooling against the published literature. The work is a method rather than a credential. Defaults administers the public-domain IPIP-NEO-120 using Johnson’s original item keying, scores it against Johnson’s published norm tables, and shows the workings: the full 120-item list is public, the norm tables are rendered from the same data the scorer uses, the percentile formula is written out, and articles cite primary sources with DOIs rather than summaries.

What he is not: not a psychologist, not a clinician, and not licensed in any jurisdiction. He holds no clinical training and no diagnostic authority. Defaults is not a clinical or diagnostic tool. Where a claim comes from published research the paper is cited; where it is his own interpretation of that research, it is presented as interpretation.
